Hi, I’m Raúl Acosta, a Peruvian filmmaker and creative director based in the U.S., drawn to stories that live between tension and tenderness. My first short film Duelo was a finalist in a DirecTV competition, followed by Crisis, which aired on national television, and Una Nuova Opportunità, which won first place in an Italian language celebration festival. All of these were made during my early training—and each one helped shape the storyteller I am today.
Since then, I’ve continued creating across genres. My thriller El Consultorio won 1st Place at the 48 Hour Film Project and screened at Filmapalooza in Paris. My recent short comedy The Dish earned nominations for Best Film and Best Directing. I’m currently developing It’s Okay, a psychological drama exploring trauma, memory, and the blurry edge of truth.
Outside of film, I’ve published a poetry book, and I’m preparing to release both an illustrated novelette and a motivational book for actors and actresses. Whether I’m writing, directing, or designing, everything I do is rooted in emotional honesty and human connection. I believe stories can entertain—but they can also heal, provoke, and create space for reflection.
